Thank You

To all our participants, sponsors, volunteers, friends, and family, we’d like to extend our most sincere thanks. The four years of Bright Night were more successful than we imagined in many ways.

We began Bright Night to celebrate our dear friend Emily Bright, whom we lost in 2008 to ovarian cancer. As a result of your support, we raised almost $50,000, which was used to establish an endowment in Emily’s name at the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center to support the ongoing research and treatment of ovarian cancer.

Though we have enjoyed being a part of Greenville’s event calendar and its strong running community, we announced after the 2013 event that we’re turning out the lights.

With the help of wonderful people and organizations, we’ve created something lasting to honor Emily, which was our goal from the start. But we could not have done it without help. We want to especially thank Young & Associates for event management and timing, Greater Greenville Community Foundation for helping establish and manage our Bright Light Fund, Moe's Southwest Grill for graciously hosting the race, and Overton’s and Greenville OB-GYN for generously sponsoring the event all four years.
